artichokes

Last night I cooked artichokes to have with dinner. As a vegetable, they're not bad, but I think they'd be much better as hand-to-hand weapons.

Ha! Trimming artichokes is a pain. I'm starting to think cucumbers should be used as weapons as well. Off the vine, cucumbers have little thorn-like things on their bumps which come off pretty easily, but I'll bet you could still do a bit of damage with them if you tried. (Have I mentioned that we have a lot of cucumbers?)

Well, if you just grab a cucumber to pick, I've found that you end up with a hand full of tiny thorns that do come out...eventually.
